Abstract

Since the last few decades, the effects of unsustainable practices have become more apparent than ever before globally and mostly in the countries which are in developing stages like India. Accelerated climate change, inhuman working conditions, and a growing economic gap between countries are some of the biggest problems we face today.

By implementing sustainable farming and advanced industrial techniques, we can help tackle these challenges and secure a better future for generations to come. But, to be successful, we need to find a feasible way to thrive from a social, environmental, and economic perspective.

This is where industrial hemp or Cannabis sativa comes in.

Historically, India has been a significant producer of hemp and cannabis and has recently reintroduced industrial hemp as a part of research and development by knowing that it has a lot of potentials. This paper discusses to provide agriculture and farmers with new economic opportunities, the hemp cultivation for sustainable development, market opportunities for hemp products in India, Production, Manufacturing, and Processing of Industrial hemp. Industrial hemp is a scalable crop that can provide significant economic and environmental benefits. Application of the whole hemp plant may be the key to attaining economic, ecological or environmental, and social sustainability.
