Abstract

While studies have explored several facets of tourism, recently there has been an increasing attention to explore several SC issues in tourism. Our study adds in the growing literature through exploring the role of tourism IT adoption (TITA) and tourism risk management orientation (TRMO) in the development of collaborative assets viz. planning, execution and decision-making in tourism. Furthermore, the study also explored the role of these assets in the development of sustainable tourism SC performance (STSCP). Perceptual responses from 176 respondents engaged in tourism were analysed with partial least squares in SmartPLS 2.0.M3. Results supported enabler role of collaborative assets for sustainable tourism SC performance. However, the moderating role of TRMO in TITA and collaborative assets association were not supported. This resulted in an alternate model testing. Results showed TITA as an enabler of TRMO, which is a prominent enabler of collaborative assets in tourism.
