Abstract

This investigation explores the context of eco-friendly frictional materials, an emerging area that connects materials science, tribology, and environmental sustainability within the framework of advancing eco-friendly and sustainable engineering practices. Recognizing the profound impact of friction and wear in mechanical systems, the paper discusses nascent materials dedicated to facilitating frictional losses, prolong the lifespan of components, and diminish environmental repercussions. The paper showcases the environmental advantages inherent in effective sustainable lubrication strategies, substantiated by an in-depth examination of the renewable energy and aerospace engineering sector. This study evaluates the enduring benefits and economic feasibility associated with transitioning to sustainable lubrication techniques. Factors such as cost-effectiveness, adherence to legal standards, and the fulfillment of corporate social responsibility obligations are considered in this assessment. Through, aligning operational practices with global sustainability objectives, the research endeavors to provide valuable insights to industries aspiring to enhance their environmental stewardship through the adoption of sustainable lubrication practices.
