Abstract
Almost all over the world due to the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic, schools in Indonesia have been closed from the beginning of March 2020 until now, the screams of both educators and students for human resources (HR), when this end. Previously guru has presented the need to adapt to online teaching (digitization). This article presents the results of the teacher competency survey since the beginning conducted in May and June 2020. First, analyze the extent to which students maintain socialization with their peers and apply core contact learning. Second, analyze potential factors (school computer technology, teacher competencies such as technical education knowledge, and teacher education learning opportunities related to digital teaching and learning). Third, analyze teacher competencies from the effects of online teaching during school closures with COVID 19. Findings from regression analysis suggest that information and communication technology (ICT) tools, especially digital teacher competencies and teacher education opportunities to learn digital competencies, played an important role in adapting to online teaching during COVID-19 school closures. Implications are discussed for the field of teacher education and the adoption of ICT by teachers.
