Abstract

The use of gadgets and the internet has become an inseparable part of children's daily lives; therefore efforts are needed to increase parents' awareness, knowledge and skills through safety or supervision of their use. The research sample was 150 parents who have children between 3-14 years old drawn by purposive sampling and surveyed online to fill out the research instrument that had been prepared. A total of 6 Parental Control Apps from Best Parental Control Apps for 2022 taken from https://www.top10cybersecurity.com/ namely mSpy, Norton, Kaspersky, eyeZy, Intego, and McAfee were used in this study. The research data were processed statistically descriptively by using the SPSS application. The results showed that as many as 85% of parents stated that parental control apps had met the needs of parents but were not in accordance with local Indonesian culture.
