This study addresses production planning inefficiencies and delivery delays in a prominent defense industry manufacturing company. The research addresses the printed circuit board (PCB) production area as the critical operational stage where improper sequencing significantly escalates setup times. To mitigate these delays, a parallel machine scheduling model is developed, specifically designed to optimize job sequences and minimize sequence-dependent setup times on the production lines. The results demonstrate that the proposed model substantially reduces setup durations and leads to a marked improvement in on-time delivery performance. Ultimately, this study contributes to production planning literature by providing an applicable and efficient solution for minimizing scheduling-related delays in modern manufacturing environments.
