Abstract

This paper concentrates on an investigation of how a law school is able to use a knowledge management approach for increasing well-trained business lawyers for Thai SMEs employers’ satisfaction. An objective of the paper is to study whether an ongoing law school institution assurance in Thai Higher Education is correlated with a shortage of business lawyer apprentice. Concurrently, the upcoming ASEAN 2025 integration involves some problems for Thailand, for example; lacking well-trained business lawyers, and an increase of threat of business competition among ASEAN countries. Thai SMEs need legal assistance to facilitate trade intra ASEAN. Also, the paper presents a case study from the CMU law school and applies the KM theory to approach a scenario analysis and draws a conceptual framework for the project. The conceptual framework illustrates the flow of the research process as best practice and uses an appropriate KM theory as a tool to close the gap in order to alleviate the threat and solve the problem mentioned above. The research, therefore, studies the KM theory which involves the Information Based Organization and the Fifth Discipline Theory. Furthermore, a case study of the Thai Banking Law Course in which using the Learning Organization KM theory combined with the Constructivist Education theory. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the model of the preferred and more effective learning system by using a knowledge management approach. Results show that the KM as a tool to adjust the learning process in the law school will help to increase the law student performance.
