Biography

Deputy Head of Unit in the Waste Management Unit and senior expert in the domain of nuclear decommissioning, environmental remediation and experienced analytical chemist having worked almost 20 years in the JRC Karlsruhe. I have been actively involved in various thematic areas of the science and knowledge generation/dissemination activities of the Commission, harnessing my core field of expertise, analytical chemistry, in numerous ways to support Member States and Commission policies. A large part of my career has been devoted to R&D, in particular the development of analytical methodologies for the study of the behaviour and fate of radionuclides in the environmental, biological and nuclear waste materials.
