Abstract
During the Covid 19 pandemic, efforts were made to the public to maintain a distance to prevent contact with one another. As we know, one of the means of spreading covid-19 is transmissions through droplets (a very small drop of a liquid). Droplet transmissions occur when a person is in close contact (within 1m) with someone who has respiratory symptoms and therefore is at risk of exposing their mouths or eyes to potentially infective respiratory droplets. These cases often occur in public areas, especially restaurants, where many public facilities still do not follow the health protocols. Because of these cases, our team decided to create a multifunctional dining table suitable for physical distancing by following the health protocols and embedding ergonomic knowledge into the product to enhance the satisfaction and comfort of the user. Designing products using the VDI 2221 design method to solve problems and optimise materials and technology. The stages in this research begin with a literature study to collect information related to the product, then benchmarking to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the product, and lastly, design the product with innovations that are adjusted to the needs of consumers. In this study, there are some data such as material data and assembly data. After getting the results from data processing, the data can be used properly according to the initial objectives of this study.
