Abstract

Nowadays, service management and service time are essential in health services. Therefore, a systematic review of the literature was carried out in order to find out about studies dealing with service management and service time in SMEs in the health sector over the last 10 years. Methodologically, the criteria established in the PRISMA statement were taken into account. The databases used were Science Direct, EBSCO host, Proquest and Google Student where 40 articles were selected, showing that service management is an efficient method for service improvement in SMEs in the health sector. Finally, it is concluded that every organisation always seeks continuous improvement of its processes, the benefit is long term and the first thing is to identify those processes that do not generate value to their activities and this will be achieved through the application of management tools for cost reduction, reductions in inequities, increased quality and efficiency in patient care within health facilities.
