Abstract
Line Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (LSPMSM) is one of the highest efficiency motors due to no rotor copper loss at synchronous speed and direct starting. LSPMSM has torque characteristics of both induction motor IM and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor-PMSM. To maximize efficiency, an optimal design method of cage-bars and magnet shape has to be considered [1]. This paper will design a high efficiency of LSPMSM 11kW-1500 rpm with harsh environment, non-sparking, and explosive conditions such as in underground mining and oil-gas industries. The goal of this work is to design a high efficiency of LSPMSM with insulation of H Class, explosion-proof motor, total closed housing IP55 and high ambient temperature of 550C. Therefore, electromagnetic performance and temperature rise calculation is play an important part in this paper.
