Abstract

Linear Programming models were developed for the supply chain system of a food factory to determine the best locations, capacity extensions and optimum distribution schedules with alternative modes of transportation. The results of the model showed that using classical linear programming optimization procedures for a supply chain and capacity extension problem can significantly reduce operational costs and help managers make correct decisions for optimum performance of their systems.
