Abstract
The case of Rachel Vennya's alleged escape from quarantine after returning from America which was allegedly assisted by TNI personnel reported in October caused pros and cons among the people of Indonesia. Not only among the public, the case of Rachel Vennya's escape became a pros and cons, but the media also reported Rachel's case. The problem studied in this study is how CNN Indonesia did frame the news on the case of Rachel Vennya's escape. This research uses qualitative methods. In this study, data was taken by downloading news related to Rachel Vennya's escape which was published on the CNNIndonesia portal. This study also used Robert Entman's framing analysis to obtain the results of news framing that became the object of research. The results showed that CNN Indonesia media focused on the relevant agencies in conducting the investigation and the development of the case. CNN Indonesia further informed the development of the case, from the beginning of the investigation to the determination of the punishment of Rachel Vennya and the person who helped her.
