Abstract
In recent years the textile industry in Mexico has faced significant competition from large foreign enterprises. Particularly, artisan producers of traditional textile goods may have an opportunity to grow within this context. However, in order to succeed, some important practices of supply chain management and business administration should be considered by these micro-entrepreneurs. This paper presents a general overview about the limitations and opportunities of traditional textile producers in Mexico. The need to incorporate practices of supply chain management is discussed.
