The rise of information communication technology (ICT) tools as well as the emergence of new technologies (like the internet) has provided wider opportunities for business and trade to thrive not only during but most especially in the post pandemic era. With the global pandemic that began in 2019, there was a greater appreciation of the digital economy. There are new opportunities that have arisen from e-commerce that boost growth and consumer welfare, hence the opportunities and benefits from cross border e-commerce is a subject worthy of analysis. The objective of this paper is to make an analysis and utilize SHEIN as a case study to document and benchmark its success stories as it stood out with cross-border e-commerce during the dilemma of Covid-19 pandemic and even afterwards, specifically on the areas of supply chain advantages. Based on literature studying SHEIN can actually provide experiences, best practices and lessons for other cross-border e-commerce companies, as well as promote the development of other emerging companies e-commerce industry. Findings revealed that the major reasons that contributed to Shein’s remarkable success on cross border e-commerce operations is its innovative use of cloud computing supply chain method. Shein’s ultra-fast fashion business model will provide a guideline needed in the way the clothes are produced and how the value chain is shaped. Further, results of analysis revealed that the supply chain in this sector needs further exploration through just-in-time (JIT), agile supply chains and quick response (QR) systems.
