In this paper, we reviewed the configuration and flight principles of drones and described the types of main parts used in drones. In addition, we obtained up-to-date information and confirmed any unusual problems that may occur during the assembly and control of important components of a drone. In particular, problems that occur in the wireless communication process between the drone and the remote control were summarized and an appropriate command cycle in wireless communication was selected to ensure smooth command transmission and reception of status information.
Among the commercial drones, we chose a product that has a camera module for video transmission and allows the addition of a communication-capable controller. The drone selected was Virobot's Petron drone, which was used to perform image processing-based autonomous flight. Using video information and sensor information, the current status and location of the drone were determined and, based on this, an autonomous flight to the target point was performed.
