Abstract

In the Switched reluctace motor (SRM) have pole arcs of the stator and rotor have significant influence on electromagnetic torque performances and efficiency performances. Many papers have investigated on those design parameters on motor result [1][2][3] [4] because the inductance and flux linkage can be changed by rotor and stator pole.  However, the results have not evaluated the change in torque characteristic and the torque ripple according to the change of stator and rotor pole arc[5][6][7][8][9]. In this paper, stator and rotor pole design was calculated by different combination pole arcs degree for switched reluctance motor by FEM simulation method. The effects of the dimensional the developed torque variation of the pole arc/pole pitch ratio of the stator, rotor on the developed torque for the base switched reluctance motor are investigated. The paper figures out some stator and rotor pole arc to get maximum average torque and minimum ripple torque. For commercial switched reluctance motor, control method is single voltage or current pulse in higher speed not chopping current.
