Purpose- This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for defining and quantifying robustness in semiconductor supply chains. The proposed supply chain resilience framework provides industry professionals with cutting-edge insights and strategies to enhance the stability and resilience of semiconductor supply chains, ensure operational continuity, and mitigate the impact of disruptions. Design/Methodology/Approach- This research utilizes a literature-based methodology that integrates a comprehensive literature review with conceptual modeling to define and characterize robustness within supply chains. Furthermore, it analyzes correlation coefficients from prior studies to understand the relationships among robustness, resilience, and agility. Findings- An integral definition of robustness is proposed, along with the identification of seven tailored variables for assessing robustness in semiconductor supply chains. Findings suggest a direct positive relationship between robustness and both resilience and agility. Research Limitations- Due to its correlational nature, this study does not establish causal relationships between robustness, resilience, and agility. Future research should empirically validate these associations and examine external factors that influence these dynamics, such as geopolitical impacts and technological advancements. Originality/Value- The significance of this study lies in its pioneering approach, which addresses a notable gap in existing literature where conceptual models for supply chain robustness in the semiconductor industry remain underdeveloped.
