Assigning preferences or weighting the attributes in multi-attribute decision making problems is not an easy and/or consensual task. Weight values can significantly influence the outcome of the decision-making process, so this has been a research topic, and various methods have been put forward in the literature to help the decision-maker in identifying those weights. However, none of these methods guarantee that the optimal weights will be found. To better understand the impact of weights, and using a case study from the literature, weights were simulated from a uniform distribution. Problem’s solutions were generated from a desirability-based function, and a rank acceptability index used for ranking them. Solution’s robustness was evaluated with a ranking stability index.
