In the current era of globalisation, organisations are compelled to continually improve their products and processes, leading to heightened competition within their respective industries. Continuous improvement has emerged as a key driver of efficiency. A systematic approach is essential for translating continuous improvement into effective change management. There is limited literature that highlights an understanding of how organisations can effectively navigate unplanned changes. This article explores the factors that impede successful change management implementation through a qualitative research approach. Semi-structured interviews (SSIs) were conducted to gain in-depth insights from participants at Company X regarding the impact of organisational change. The findings from the SSIs confirm existing literature. Ineffective communication, poor leadership, and resistance to change are emerging as common factors that impede the successful adoption of change within organisations. Participants offered valuable solutions for overcoming challenges related to change management.
