The integration of Internet of Things technologies in public healthcare settings presents significant opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, patient safety, and resource utilization. The paper presents the design and development of an IoT-driven smart workspace solution tailored for a public healthcare hospital, with a central focus on a real-time monitoring dashboard. The proposed system connects various IoT-enabled environmental sensors to capture live data across hospital departments, such as occupancy levels, equipment usage, air quality, temperature, and patient movement. The dashboard aggregates and visualizes this data to support data-informed decision-making by healthcare professionals, administrators, and maintenance teams. Using a modular and scalable architecture, the solution ensures interoperability and secure data transmission while enabling proactive responses to critical events such as overcrowding, asset misplacement, or environmental non-compliance. A pilot implementation demonstrated improvements in workflow coordination, timely equipment availability, and situational awareness. This study contributes a replicable framework for deploying smart workspace dashboards in public healthcare environments, highlighting key challenges, design considerations, and the potential impact on patient care and hospital operations. The research adopts a qualitative case study research approach to explore, explain, and establish an IoT-driven smart workspace in hospitals. The outcome of the research is an interactive and automated dashboard.
