There are limited empirical studies and information regarding what enables supply chain innovations, as exemplified by e-supply chain adoption in tertiary hospitals. As such, this research aims to close this gap by exploring the factors driving supply chain innovations in Ghana's tertiary hospitals. The research study employs a concurrent mixed-methods approach to collect and analyze data. Ethical considerations were adhered to in this study. For the quantitative data collection, a convenience sampling technique was used, yielding 250 responses from employees and mid- to lower-tier managers. The Smart PLS structural equation model served as the analytical tool for quantitative data. The qualitative aspect involved the utilization of convenience and purposive sampling methods to garner insights from 15 supply chain experts. Subsequently, the qualitative data were thematically analyzed. Grounded within the paradigm of dialectical pluralism, this research study adopted the Technology, Organization, and Environment (TOE) Framework as its foundational theoretical underpinning. Other theories, including the Innovation Diffusion Theory, Stakeholder Theory, and Institutional Theory, were added to enrich the theoretical rigor. Significantly, a key finding was that the Technological Factors (TF) were not significant in predicting e-supply chain adoption in tertiary hospitals. Recommendations were made to focus on environmental and organizational factors to enhance e-supply chain adoption.
