Sustainable real estate development extends beyond physical construction to encompass the social, economic, and environmental well-being of communities. Effective community engagement and participation are essential to ensure that real estate projects respond to local needs, minimize environmental impacts, and promote long-term inclusivity. This study explores the critical role of community involvement in achieving sustainable real estate outcomes, with a particular focus on emerging nations facing rapid urbanization and housing pressures. Through a conceptual review of the literature and an analysis of real-world case studies, the research identifies participatory frameworks, challenges to meaningful engagement, and strategies for integrating community perspectives into real estate decision-making. The findings reveal that inclusive participation and participatory governance enhance project resilience, social sustainability, and public acceptance while reducing conflict. The study recommends that policymakers, practitioners, and developers institutionalize community engagement as a core element of sustainable real estate practice.
