Non-oil exports hold significant importance economically and strategically for Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 has many goals to develop the country, one of them is to diversify the economy and increase the share of non-oil exports in GDP to 50% by 2030. Many global supply chain disruptions were witnessed during the past five years that affected exports around the globe. As diversifying the economy holds significant value for Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, analyzing and understanding how these events influenced non-oil export performance is important. This research reviewed literature on global disruptions, specifically: COVID19, the Suez Canal blockage, Russia-Ukraine war, and Red Sea disruptions. Furthermore, it analyzed their effect and impact on Saudi Arabia’s non-oil export performance to understand how disruptions in the global supply chain shaped its performance. This research contributes to the existence knowledge by providing quantifiable evidence on the resilience of the strategies executed by the government to support the non-oil exports during major disruptions. Data were collected from the General Authority for Statistics to analyze export performance using time series analysis and comparing the data before and after these events occurred, in order to identify the underlying impacts on the supply chain. The results showed that while export performance was affected during these global disruptions, this did not prevent non-oil exports from growing, which indicates that Saudi Arabia’s strategies were effective in countering them.
