As higher education institutions increasingly rely on digital platforms for teaching and learning, the cybersecurity posture of faculty and students has become a critical concern. This study aims to assess the level of cybersecurity awareness and actual behavioral practices among faculty members and students engaged in e-learning environments, in Oman.
The research will adopt a quantitative approach, utilizing a structured survey based on established cybersecurity awareness and behavior assessment tools. Key variables include knowledge of cybersecurity principles, adoption of secure practices, and susceptibility to common cyber threats. Data will be analyzed using regression analysis or structural equation modeling (SEM) to explore the relationships between awareness levels and behavioral outcomes.
The study aims to identify user-side vulnerabilities and behavioral gaps, offering actionable recommendations for designing effective, role-based awareness programs. By focusing on the human factor in academic cybersecurity, the study contributes to building safer digital learning environments and supports institutional strategies for cyber risk mitigation.
