The processes and activities of the industrial sector are highly energy-intensive. With the increase in global population, urbanization, and consumer sophistication, demand for industrial products has increased in recent decades. The use of non-renewable energy sources to power industries triggers the emission of dangerous gases, exacerbates environmental degradation, and thus unsustainable. The current study explores avenues for deploying renewable energy technologies (RETs) for industrial applications. The use of bioenergy, solar power, and hydropower as energy sources for the industrial sector is eco-friendly, reduces production costs, and boosts industrial outputs. We suggest more collaborative research into the development and implementation of novel practices, technologies, and other innovations that encourage the use of RETs for the industrial sector. Policies and laws that encourage investments in RETs should be enacted and implemented. The utilization of RETs in the industrial sector will reduce toxic emissions and propel sustainable socioeconomic development.
