The study focused on addressing critical production inefficiencies in Peruvian garment manufacturing SMEs, a sector vital for economic and social development yet challenged by high defect rates and resource mismanagement. Prior research emphasized the potential of Lean Manufacturing and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), yet their application in SMEs remained underexplored. This research proposed a structured model integrating tools like 5S, Kanban, and TPM across three phases: change management, methodology design, and process standardization. Implementation yielded notable results, including a reduction in defect rates from 11.7% to 5.1%, a 7.1% decrease in average production time, and a 37,214 PEN cost saving in rework. These improvements enhanced operational efficiency, product quality, and employee engagement. The findings demonstrate the scalability of Lean and TPM methodologies for SMEs, bridging gaps in existing literature. Further studies should explore advanced technologies and their integration into such frameworks, fostering long-term resilience and competitiveness in dynamic markets.
