This study is the integration of green computing initiatives within state higher education institutions (SHEIs), focusing on their role in advancing sustainable development. Specifically, it examines the current trends in smart campus initiatives from an engineering management perspective, highlighting how SHEIs are leveraging innovative technologies to promote energy efficiency, reduce carbon footprints, and optimize resource use. Through a comprehensive review of existing practices, case studies, and emerging technologies, this research identifies key strategies employed by institutions to incorporate sustainable computing solutions into their operations. Furthermore, it assesses the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing green computing in the context of smart campus developments. The study aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, university administrators, and engineering managers on how to effectively incorporate green computing strategies into future campus designs, contributing to long-term sustainability goals in higher education.
