In Bangladesh, there are 55 public and 115 private universities. Most of the students get admitted to private universities since they could not get selected in the admission exam. The objective of this study is to analyze the insights of public and private university students about their ambitions, choices, and career expectations. A questionnaire was developed in Google Form, and it was distributed among 80 students (40 public and 40 private university students). Data was analyzed using Google spreadsheets, and percentage calculations were used to get the result. Results revealed that 80% of private university students have passion for their chosen field, and 47.5% of public university students have passion for the field, and 52.5% of students from public universities want to somehow graduate. It also shows that most public and private university students want to go abroad for further study, and they also want to come back to their home country rather than settle there. Finally, this paper offers the insights of students of both public and private universities about their future plans and mindsets.
