Spend data is also vital for other business strategies, such as budgeting and planning, inventory management, and product development. It is the systematic process of collecting, cleansing, enriching, classifying and analysing expenditure data for the purpose of reducing procurement costs. It gives full and accurate spend visibility across complete Enterprise which results in enabling of Strategic Decision making. Main approach of the paper is to overcome different challenges in spend data management, to track the best way of implementing Spend analysis at three levels Laggard, Industry Average and Best-in-Class, to improve results in reducing expenditures in enterprise, identifying and prioritizing savings opportunities for reduced costs and risk mitigation techniques augmenting spend data with business intelligence and managing Tail spends.
