The concepts of the revolution of communication, era of the information society, era of the information economy, post industry period and in some cases post modern condition are used interchangeably or/and together to define the same process. We can notice that globalization is only added to these locomotive concepts too. McLuhan made the definition of the “global village” in 1963. It can not to be said that there is no global dimension in the international capitalism, including the mercantilist period. There is no doubt that the notion of “American era” after World War 2 is global. At the same time it is global with its political and military structures and multinational corporations. But there are different dimensions of the 1990’s globalization (Giray, 1996:78). It is examined the concept of globalization which emerged from this period and also its’ interrelations with new communication technologies in this article.
In accordance with extensive use of the facts containing of the developing new communication technologies which provide the globalization the aim of this article is to present these interrelations. For this purpose, in the first stage it examined the phenomenon of globalization. Then in the second stage it is informed about new communication technologies and by this information in the last stage it is enlightened the relations between new communication technologies and globalization.
