This paper aims at the studying the discrepancies among the qualitative vs. quantitative course assessment measures. Qualitative measures are based on the students’ opinions on the course outcomes coverage. While the quantitative are based on the actual scoring of the students in the different assessment tools such as exams, projects, etc. Data have been collected in regards to both qualitative and quantitative from the course assessment file (CAF) of the mechanical engineering department in UAEU. Initial analysis of the results indicated that such differences need to be investigated to reveal the reason(s) of such discrepancies among the qualitative and quantitative measures and recommend which one to be more reliable.
