An investigation into the possibility of using rice husk waste as potential coating materials of mild steel for Engineering application is undertaken. Rice husk is one of the agro-waste that can cause environmental pollution Worldwide. The rice husk was processed into rice husk nanoparticle (RHAnp). Epoxy-2wt% RHAnp was developed on the mild steel surface. Corrosion, wear and hardness tests were conducted to determine the coating performances. The work have provided new information on the rice husk waste management for potential use as both anti-corrosion and anti-wear resistance of mild steel coating. The results establish that waste rice husk can be used to increase the coating thickness, polarization resistance and hardness values, as well as decrease the coefficient of friction, corrosion rate and wear rate of epoxy coated mild steel.
