The ever-increasing demand for complex product geometries along with superior product features has led to the rapid increase in the use of superalloys. However, the difficulty in machining of those alloys had made non-traditional machining processes attractive. In this paper, an attempt has been made to optimize the performance parameters namely MRR and Overcut in machining of Inconel 800 alloy by WEDM using ANN. This is achieved by performing the experiments according to the Taguchi L16 orthogonal array. Different ANN network structures were developed and compared taking into consideration Pulse on (μs), pulse off (μs), current (A) and servo voltage (V) as the controlled parameters to find the optimum network. The predicted results are found to have a close consensus with the experimental values.
