Welding of dissimilar metals has attracted attention of the researchers worldwide, owing to its many advantages and challenges. There is no denial in the fact that dissimilar welded joints offer more flexibility in the design and production of the commercial and industrial components. Welding of Ferritic and Austenitic stainless steel in general and GMAW of such steel in particular, can well be considered as one of the areas where more extensive research may contribute, in a significant way, to the precise control of the welding process for better and acceptable quality of weldment. The purpose is to study the influence of the selected parameters : welding current, Gas flow rate and Nozzle to plate distance on the quality of weld Dissimilar Welding of AISI 316L Austenitic Stainless Steel to AISI 409 Ferritic stainless steel Weldment In Metal Inert Gas Welding.
