In this paper we relate left/right brain dominance types of leaders to TQM focus. Literature on TQM shows two distinct achievable results: continuous improvement and innovation. We hypothesize that left brained leaders emphasize continuous improvement; and right brained leaders focus on innovation. A pilot study of 111 Indian firms lent good support to our hypotheses.
