One of the subjects in the primary teacher education is Journal Study. This subject is taught by virtual team teaching. The subject learning outcomes are students master the substance and strategy of writing scientific articles that support the thesis completion process and write conceptual articles. The Project Based Learning (PjBL) model combined with the virtual debate method was established to facilitate learning of these competencies at the assessment stage. The aims of this study are: (1) to describe the characteristics of the PjBL-Virtual Debate model; (2) to describe the implementation of the PjBL-Virtual Debate model in learning conceptual article writing. This study was conducted using a qualitative approach through seven activities: (a) building a conceptual framework, (b) formulating problems, (c) selecting and limiting samples, (d) instrumentation, (e) collecting data, (f) analyzing data, and (g) matrix and conclusion testing. Based on the research, the following research results were obtained. Based on the research, the findings of this research results were obtained. (1) The characteristics of the PjBL-Virtual Debate model are identified based on the principle of a model characterized by the application of project-based learning syntagmatic by involving the assessment method through virtual debate so that students can find and revise their own strengths and weaknesses of the draft article product. (2) The implementation of the PjBL-Virtual Debate model starts from student activities pre-learning to post-learning in a virtual manner so that they develop creative, independent, courageous, and sports character values in facing counter teams to defend their conceptual ideas in debates so that they are worthy to published in journals. All students have successfully published their conceptual articles in the journals. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended that students before compiling a conceptual article have made a conceptual research report because in fact the article is a form of reproduction of a complete research report.
