Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
Mike Rinker graduated from the University of Western Ontario where he studied geophysics and geochemistry. He began his career as an environmental consultant where he applied his expertise in geochemistry to the environmental management of mining projects and remediation projects. Mike is now a Director General at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission where he is accountable for the CNSC’s regulatory oversight of Canada’s nuclear industry in the subject areas of radiation protection, environmental protection and the geosciences. Mike is also responsible for the CNSC’s process for environmental assessment.
