Biography

Dr. Monica Garcia is a Senior Research Engineer at Southwest Research Institute and the Program Manager for the Unmanned Aerial Systems for Primary Containment Vessel Exploration program. Dr. Garcia earned her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Duke University. Her current research interests focus on developing and testing unmanned systems, with a particular emphasis on small unmanned aerial systems (UASs).
