Biography

Dr. Linan Qiao is a senior research assistant at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing BAM, Germany, and an expert in the field of numerical simulations. For nearly 20 years he assesses and ensures the safety of dualpurpose casks for transport and storage of radioactive materials by using finite element analyses. In recent years, a significant focus of his work are the modelling and simulation of the complex mechanical behavior of metal seals under normal operating conditions as well as in accident scenarios. Thereby obtained results were published in peer-reviewed, scientific journals and presented on different international conferences.
