Biography

Dr. Wilmarth is a Senior Advisory Scientist at the Savannah River National Laboratory. He has over 30 years experience in Nuclear Material Processing and Waste Management. He received his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Tennessee and his B.S. in Chemistry from Clemson University. Over the last 20 years Bill has worked on a number of complex flowsheet development for DOE EM including solvent extraction and ion exchange for cesium, strontium and actinide removal from High-Level Waste. He is currently leading the efforts of SRNL to solve the unique challenges of mercury in the Savannah River Liquid Waste System.
