Professor and Canada Research Chair in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering at Queen’s University, Canada. Foreign member US National Academy of Engineering, Fellow of the Royal Society, Past President of International Geosynthetics Society. World-leading expert on barrier systems for waste disposal and geosynthetics. Past Terzaghi, Rankine, Rocha, Croce, and Casagrande Lecturer. In 2013 the International Society for Soil mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering created the R. Kerry Rowe Lecture in honor of his contributions to environmental protection.
