Biography

Tom A. Nance, Ph.D., P.E. Dr. Nance is Director of Advanced Engineering (AE) for DOE EM’s Savannah River National Laboratory. AE develops engineered systems including mechanical, robotic and automated, electrical and instrumentation, imaging, and also provides engineering and testing services. Additionally, Dr. Nance has personally led equipment development including remote sampling, cutting, cleaning, inspection, examination, retrieval equipment, and robotic crawlers, with over 100 deployments of developed equipment in numerous HLW and solvent tanks, evaporators, diversion boxes, tank annuluses, drain lines, valve boxes, shielded lab cells and the glass melter at SRS.
