Dr. Heather Jones is a Senior Project Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University, where she develops robots for difficult environments on Earth and beyond. Her inspection robots have been demonstrated in uranium enrichment process piping at the DOE Portsmouth Site. She has also deployed robots in mines, caves, and rough terrain. During her graduate studies, she was awarded a NASA Space Technology Research Fellowship. She previously worked at the NASA Johnson Space Center analyzing operations for a robotic arm on the International Space Station and served as president of the Texas Space Center section of the Society of Women Engineers.
