Biography

Elizabeth Helvey has over 20 years’ experience negotiating public policy solutions among stakeholders for the transport of nuclear waste and the siting of nuclear facilities. She provides mediation and strategic planning expertise to help resolve controversial public policy issues. She worked for the DOE’s Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management, the Office of Nuclear Energy, and other DOE offices. She has supported the Nuclear Waste Negotiator and DOE’s recent consent-based siting efforts. However, her primary focus is stakeholder engagement related to the transportation of radioactive materials including working to define a policy and procedures for Section 180(c) of the Nuclear
