Biography

Evans Chirwa is a Professor and Sedibeng Water Chair in Water Utilisation Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Pretoria. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from University of Kentucky. His research focuses on biological methods for removal of toxic compounds in water and soil environments, photocatalytic degradation of toxic organic compounds, and biological processes for removal of radioactive elements from water and soil medium. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland (USA), Republic of South Africa, and Republic of Malawi.
