Biography

Arianna Libera is a PhD candidate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Southern California. She holds a Bachelor and a Master degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan. She is currently working on developing novel stochastic modeling frameworks that predict transport of contaminants in spatially heterogeneous aquifers in the presence of extraction wells. She performed a study at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory on hydrological effects on residual contaminants under sustainable remediation. The study is demonstrated at the Savannah River Site (South Carolina), employed for nuclear weapons production during the Cold War.
