Biography

Alex Spiliotopoulos received his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering in Greece, and his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Vermont, focusing on optimization techniques for groundwater management problems. He has been with SSP&A for 20 years, developing analytical and numerical groundwater models, evaluating water quantity and quality data, and designing multiscale pump-and-treat systems. He has extensive experience in the remediation of nuclear sites such as Hanford, including designs in support of RI/FS, RPO, and RDRA Work Plans; the design of numerous remedial systems addressing fuel additives, metals and VOCs; and the assessment of interstate water-resource management.
