Biography

Simon Carroll is a Senior Adviser in the Business Unit Nuclear Decommissioning of Vattenfall since May 2018. Prior to that he was a Senior Analyst at the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority (SSM). He is a Member of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency’s new Committee on Decommissioning and Legacy Management (CDLM) and has been Chair of NEAs Decommissioning Cost Estimation Group (DCEG) since June 2014. He has more than three decades of international experience in nuclear power and radioactive waste issues, as well as in environmental policy development. For the past decade Simon's principal focus is nuclear decommissioning. Simon has degrees in medicine, radiochemistry and European law.
