Bruno Thomauske studied physics and made his PhD in high energy physics. He worked from 1983 till 2003 in the German Radiation Protection Ordinance and was responsible for the German final disposal projects and plants as well as for the licensing of interim storage facilities. In September 2003 he was managing director for the operation of Vattenfalls German nuclear power plants till 2007. From 2008 till 2015 Bruno Thomauske had a chair as a full Professor in the Aachen University for the Nuclear Fuel Cycle. He was also Director in the Jülich Research Center.
